RE's future enhanced with alum's support

Dedication to educational opportunity and the humanities flows through the veins of Jeffrey Miller ’79, P’15 ’21, inherited, no doubt, from his parents, Sue and Leonard Miller. His active engagement with institutions across the city – Breakthrough Miami, Beacon College Prep, the University of Miami, United Way, the Miami Foundation and Ransom Everglades – speaks volumes about his commitment to providing educational access for all students in his home community. Like his mother, Jeff shared a special bond with Dan Bowden, which led him to spearhead the creation of the Dan Leslie Bowden Endowment in the Humanities at Ransom Everglades – a testament to the recognition of how literature and the arts help to shape our souls. He also inherited the deep affection for RE and its special role as an institution that produces leaders who make a difference in the world.
Jeff has gone on to become Ransom Everglades’ own champion in the community. With RE alumna Melissa Krinzman ’86, he founded Krillion Ventures, South Florida’s first venture capital fund. He continues to break new ground, leading the charge for the REinventing Excellence campaign with co-chair Constance Fernandez P’22. While providing his own generous support for the transformational goals of the campaign, Jeff has also cast his eye far into the future – recognizing that RE will always be a keystone institution for the greater Miami community. In addition to his support of current campaign initiatives, Jeff has included the school in his estate plans, demonstrating his deep commitment to securing the school’s financial future.

“The transformation of the upper school is inspiring, and it is a privilege to work with Constance and the rest of the community toward its completion,” he said.

“Ransom Everglades is a key educational leader in Miami, and I want to do all I can to secure its financial foundation.”

He added, "This is an important way to ensure that this wonderful school continues its contributions to our community. One of the easiest ways to help far into the future is to include Ransom Everglades in my estate plans, which I am proud to do. I hope that others will do the same.”

Ransom Everglades’ success as an independent school is no secret, but unlike its peer institutions around the country, the school’s endowment does not match its academic stature. Thanks to Jeff’s generous and far-sighted commitment to the endowment, the school has taken a significant step toward securing its reputation for honor and excellence for generations to come.
