Posners name STEM Center Auditorium

While Steven’s business deals made news, his true priority was family. His children – Kelly ’85, Jarrett ’88 and Sean ’93 – remember their parents as affectionate and generous. They held family dinners at least four nights each week, and annual family vacations were eagerly anticipated. Time together included innumerable tennis matches, weekends on the water and family trips abroad. A favorite spot was Capri, with time spent together on the water and at leisurely family dinners. For Jarrett, memories of those trips prompted him to take his own three children to Capri, sparking wonderful flashbacks from his teenage years.
Both Steven and Susan valued education, making it known that they expected their children to work hard and do their best. All three have gone on to successful careers since their days in Coconut Grove, and the REinventing Excellence campaign has provided an opportunity for them to honor the memory of their parents. The Posner siblings have chosen to name the new auditorium in the STEM Center in their memory – participating in the transformation of the campus and linking their parents’ names with a place that has deep meaning for the family.

“Sean, Kelly and I lost our parents too young, and we are fortunate to be able to honor them in this way,” Jarrett said. “The values of Ransom Everglades and the quality of education it continues to provide reflect what our parents believed in."

“We are happy to create this memorial to honor the love and support that we received from our family, while at the same time, helping to build the future of the school.”
