Six honor societies inducted nearly 300 new members from Ransom Everglades during consecutive virtual ceremonies on May 3 that drew student honorees – with candle apps on their phones – and their families. The National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta each welcomed nearly 100 inew members as the science, French, Spanish-Portuguese and Chinese honor societies each inducted more than a dozen RE students.
Head of School Penny Townsend and Head of the Upper School Patricia Sasser welcomed students to several of the ceremonies. Math teacher Henry Stavisky '85 presided over the National Honor Society, French instructor Dominique McKenna presided over the French National Honor Society; world languages teacher Jeannine Lehr welcomed the Spanish-Portuguese inductees; Karen Key led the Mu Alpha Theta (math) ceremony; Chinese faculty member Youming Che welcomed the Chinese National Honor Society inductees; and science teacher Claudia Ochatt handled the Science National Honor Society Ceremony.
