Yearbook dedicated to Antonio Tsialas '19

The 2019-20 yearbook was dedicated to the memory of Antonio Tsialas '19 during an emotional May 11 online upper school assembly that included Tsialas' parents. Yearbook Editor-in-Chief Sophia Antezana '20 called Tsialas, who died last fall during his freshman year in college, an inspiration to the entire school.
"His positive attitude, caring persona, work ethic and character are just a couple of examples of the ways Antonio embodied everything we strive to be here at RE," Antezana said. "By remembering Antonio in this way, my hope is we can continue to honor and live out the legacy that he had here at RE and in the greater Miami community."

Tsialas was a standout student and soccer player at RE who was known for his infectious smile, relentless work ethic, kindness and love for his classmates. Head of School Penny Townsend lauded the yearbook staff and senior class for choosing to honor Tsialas, noting that it would help ensure that his life and spirit live on.

John Tsialas and Flavia Tomasello attended the virtual event, thanking the yearbook members for their "pure act of love and compassion," and also offering congratulations to the senior class.

"Thank you very much for dedicating the yearbook to Antonio," John Tsialas said. "It's a very special moment for us. We are very grateful for your love and support."
