Girls' lacrosse wins sixth straight championship

Ransom Everglades girls' lacrosse captured its sixth straight district title with a 15-2 defeat of Key West High at Walker field on April 16. The game featured goals by eight players, including five from Ellie Dyke '21 and two apiece from Rachel Bienstock '21 and Joelle Pena '22.
After defeating Gulliver Prep 21-3 in the district semifinals, RE jumped to an early lead and dominated in the final. Dyke also had a pair of assists and Bienstock contributed nine draw controls. Maya Rego '21 scored one goal, tallied two assists and drew five draw controls. 
 
Defensive players Sloane Sell '21, Chloe Wiesenfeld '21, Vicky Porto '22 and Sophie Bernstein '21 held Key West scoreless the final 36 minutes, and goalie Helaina Harris '21 contributed seven saves. The victory gave RE a 14-2 record as it entered the regional playoffs.

The Raiders, coached by Jacqueline Kisthardt, fell short in the regional semifinals against Pine Crest on April 22.
