Three seniors nominated for Presidential Scholars Program

Alba Uriarte Jimenez '22, Sabrina Shipley '22 and Alex Van Lidth '22 have been nominated to compete in The United States Presidential Scholars Program, joining some 4,000 high school students nationwide. The three seniors did not apply individually for the program, and were not nominated by Ransom Everglades. Students receive invitations based on academic achievement, their performance on the SAT or ACT or other elements of scholarship.
Students who submit candidacy materials, including essays, self-assessments and transcripts, are eligible to advance to the semifinal round and eventually compete for one of 161 U.S. Presidential Scholar awards each year. U.S. Presidential Scholars are recognized with a Presidential Scholars Medallion awarded at a White House ceremony in June.
