District title for girls' basketball

Ransom Everglades girls’ basketball team earned a 65-22 over Florida Christian on February 4 to win the Florida High School Athletic Association Class 3A District 15 championship. Kathryn Serra ’23 dominated on both ends of the court, scoring 26 points, grabbing 14 rebounds, collecting nine steals and dishing out five assists to lead the Raiders' young team.
Fueled by Serra and strong play by three sophomores, RE scored 43 first-half points to take an insurmountable lead. Leah Croom ’24 chipped in 10 points, six steals, four rebounds and two assists. Ariana Kaye ’24 scored nine points and added six steals and two assists. Gabriela Pena ’24 nabbed seven rebounds. Caroline Sosler ’22, the lone senior, scored seven points.

The Raiders were coached by Joe Supple and advanced to the regional playoffs.
