RE sailors earn national championship bid

The Ransom Everglades sailing team advanced to the 2022 Interscholastic Sailing Association Mallory Doublehanded National Championship with a second-place finish at the 2022 South Atlantic Interscholastic Sailing Association qualifying regatta April 2-3 in St. Petersburg, Fla., April. Led by the A team of Stephan Baker '22, Griggs Diemar '25, Livia Hermann '22 and Boris Bailer '22, the Raiders finished behind only Immaculata-La Salle High School in the 15-school field to advance to the June 4-5 championship in San Diego.
St. Thomas Aquinas finished third in the regatta that attracted teams from as far as the U.S. Virgin Islands and Carolinas. The top three finishers won national championship berths.

The Raiders, coached by Captain Joseph Logan, fielded A and B division boats. After seven events, Ransom Everglades is ranked second in the South Atlantic Interscholastic Sailing Association standings behind only Immaculata-La Salle.
