Raiders erase four run deficit to win South Florida Baseball Conference title

Neither rain, nor wind, nor long delays could keep the Raiders from a championship Friday night as they stormed back from deficits of 4-0, and 7-3 to defeat Marathon High School 8-7, and take the South Florida Baseball Conference crown. Junior Nicholas Rubino '23 led the way with a pair of hits that included a game tying homerun in the sixth inning. Junior Justin Saphier '23 would match Rubino's homer on the very next pitch to give the Raiders the lead late in the game.  Senior Thomas Fisher '22 showed his resolve going six innings on the mound with four strikeouts, and two earned runs to earn the victory. The Raiders will now turn their attention to the FHSAA district playoffs as they take on LaSalle High School this evening at Florida Christian in a quarterfinal matchup. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
