Seventh grader finishes first in National History Bee

Parker Jelke '27 finished first in his age group in the National History Bee for the second straight year as he and teammates Zach Corbin Cheah '27, Lucas Gonzalez '27 and Jaz Puri '28 also claimed third place in the National History Bowl in Orlando June 17-20. Their efforts led a host of impressive performances, including a first place in the written exam on cartography by Jacob Aronow '26.
Under club advisor Joe Mauro, RE students excelled in nearly every event at International Academic Competitions 2022 Middle & Elementary School National Championships of the National History Bee and Bowl. Other notable achievements:

RE Team B (Aarav Jindal '26, Patrick Keedy Brown '26, Jack Gonzalez '28, Harlan Hoenig '28) made the playoffs, finishing16th overall. 
Aronow placed first in cartography, eighth in the International Geography Bee and ninth on the U.S. Geography Exam.
Jelke placed first on the Military History Exam, second on the Asian History Exam, third on the Historical Geography Exam and fourth in the U.S. History Bee.
Corbin Cheah placed seventh in the National History Bee.
Puri placed fifth on the Recent History Exam, sixth on the Asian History Exam and seventh on the U.S. History Exam.
