Raiders finish 2nd at SAISA South Points series event

The Raider varsity and junior varsity sailing team took their show on the road as they competed in the highly competitive South Point series event in Jensen Beach, Florida. Sunny skies and challenging winds set the stage for high level sailing by some of the best teams in Florida. In total, the Raiders fielded three sailing teams (varsity, junior varsity I/II)  with 19 sailors. The varsity group, led by Jackson McAliley '23, Sophia Adams '23, Griggs Diemar '25 and Manolo Campos '23 captured first place. In the varsity B division, Olivia Drulard '23 and Violet Martin '24 were victorious in the last race of the day. In total, the Raiders finished  behind Gulliver Prep for the overall team championship. In the junior varsity event, skippers Ava McAliley '26 and Garrett Fox '26 made their high school debuts with the help of crew members Lucas Lippy '25, Amiela Lazaus '25 and Kayra Serpenguzel '25. Smart sailing and strong execution made for a dominant performance winning both A and B Divisions. Next weekend the Raiders will send Jackson McAliley and Diemar to the high school Singlehanded Championship at Old Dominion University in Virginia for one of the best fields in all of of high school sailing.
