RE upper school students discuss healthy relationships with an expert facilitator

Ransom Everglades upper school students actively engaged in an interactive assembly on healthy relationships led by The Center for Respect President Mike Domitrz on September 25. Students fired questions at Domitrz, whose organization emphasizes respect for boundaries, bystander intervention and support, from the start of the assembly at the Lewis Family Auditorium until its conclusion. In response to myriad questions on dating and relationships, Domitrz urged the students not to rely on pat answers but to recognize that every person – including themselves – is owed dignity and respect, and to develop behavior patterns with that understanding built in.

Domitrz, invited by RE Director of Counseling Isis Perez-Gonzalez, also spoke to RE parents during a morning session before the student meeting. His presentations are a key component of Ransom Everglades' yearlong health and wellbeing curriculum.
