RE community members on both campuses participate in Thanksgiving drives

In the spirit of RE's core value of Service & Outreach, Ransom Everglades students and professional community members donated nearly 400 bags of groceries, $2,300 in cash and gift cards, and 12 turkeys and two hams to the Caring Place at Miami Rescue Mission on November 20 as middle school students packed 42 Thanksgiving baskets with food items and gift cards for local families. Student Government Association leaders at the upper school helped load the truck from the Caring Place that collected RE's donations, and student ambassadors at the middle school hand-delivered the food baskets to Coconut Grove residents who gathered at the Frankie Shannon Rolle Neighborhood Center.
The upper school drive is annually organized by faculty member Astrid Dalins, and Middle School Student Activities Dean Lenny Castaneda oversaw the event at the middle school.
