Raider baseball dominates on opening day

Ransom Everglades opened its season with a convincing 16–3 victory over Riviera Prep on Monday. Sophomore Jorge Gross '28 led the Raiders with four RBIs on three hits, including a two-run double, a solo home run, and an RBI single. The Raiders jumped out early, scoring seven runs in the second inning and extending the lead to 8–0 in the third. They added two runs in the fourth and five more in the sixth to put the game away. Gross earned the win, allowing two runs while striking out six over three innings. Ransom Everglades totaled 15 hits and eight walks, with senior Enrique Macias '26, Jorge Gross '28, and Ryan Alesandro '26 each collecting three hits. The Raiders also stole nine bases in a strong all-around season-opening performance. The Raiders will look to move to 2-0 as they host Mater Bay Academy on Wednesday. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
