Raider baseball stays undefeated with comeback win

The Raiders continued there hot start to the season defeating Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) 7–5 on Friday in a back-and-forth matchup at Somerset Academy Silver Palms. The Raiders struck first in the opening inning when sophomore Jorge Gross '28 tripled to drive in a run, and they added another in the third on a Tyler Grossfeld '27 RBI double. Somerset responded in the bottom of the third, tying the game 2–2 after a home run to left field. The Raiders regained a 3–2 lead in the fifth on a Grossfeld RBI groundout, but Somerset answered with a two-run homer to move ahead 4–3. Ransom tied it again in the sixth on an RBI single by junior Nicolas Motoki '27, though Somerset reclaimed a 5–4 edge later that inning on a wild pitch. Ransom sealed the victory with a three-run seventh inning. Grossfeld delivered a two-run triple, and Teddy Wagner added a sacrifice fly to give the Raiders a 7–5 lead they would not relinquish. The Raiders will get back to the practice field today as they prepare to host Marathon tomorrow in search of win number eight. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
