The Raiders Boys Lacrosse team powered their way to a district semifinal victory over Gulliver Prep with a gritty, all-around performance on both ends of the field. Senior Elijah Ponce '26 set the tone early, scoring the Raiders’ first three goals of the game and finishing with four total, earning Player of the Game honors. Sophomore Liam Segal '28 delivered in clutch moments as well, netting two key goals—one to tie the game and another to regain the lead after it slipped away. Sophomore Winston Hosford '28 filled the stat sheet with an outstanding performance at LSM, tallying the first go-ahead goal along with 3 assists, 7 ground balls, and 5 takeaways. At the faceoff X, junior Leo Porcelli '27 battled hard, winning over 50% of draws and coming up with crucial ground balls that swung momentum in the Raiders’ favor. Senior Rauli Matos '26 contributed across the board with an assist, 6 ground balls, and 5 takeaways, while sophomore Finn McCarron '28 anchored the defense with 5 ground balls, 4 takeaways, and shut down Gulliver’s top scorer, holding him to zero goals. In goal, senior Jackson Crowley '26 stood tall with 11 saves, delivering an outstanding performance to back a dominant defensive unit—one that continues to prove why it has allowed the fewest goals in Miami-Dade County. The victory advances the Raiders to the district championship game this Wednesday as they take on Westminster Christian in a road game at 5:00 p.m.
