Raiders rally to improve to 8-2 with comeback victory over Mater Lakes

The Ransom Everglades girls volleyball team continued its strong start to the 2026 season, rallying after dropping the opening set to defeat Mater Lakes in a thrilling home victory and improve to 8-2 on the season.
After falling behind early, the Raiders responded with composure and energy, winning the next three sets to complete the comeback and earn another important victory on their home court. Sophomore Abigail Zichella ’29 led the Raiders offensively with an impressive 16 kills, while also contributing a block and an ace. Junior Evangeline Steiner ’28 added 11 kills and two blocks, providing a strong presence at the net throughout the match. Freshman Adriana Hufsky ’30 continued her outstanding season with 12 kills, while senior Valentina Pombo ’27 contributed six kills to the balanced Raider attack. Defensively, sophomore Lola Picchetti ’29 anchored the Raiders with an outstanding 22 digs, while also recording seven assists and an ace. The victory moves the Raiders to 8-2 on the season as they look forward to a big tournament weekend at the CM Cares Invitational.
