The Raider swimming teams turned in a strong showing Thursday in a competitive meet featuring Ransom Everglades, Belen Jesuit, Lourdes, Columbus, and MAST. The girls were led by a pair of standout performances from sophomore Sophie Szutkowski ’29, who earned a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle (2:05.25) before capturing the 100-yard freestyle in 57.70. Sophomore Eleanor Kriplen ’29 also had an outstanding meet, placing second in the 200 freestyle (2:08.48) and winning the 100-yard butterfly in 1:04.24. The Raider girls also closed the meet in impressive fashion, with Kriplen, Szutkowski, Hannah May ’30, and Christina Luca ’29 winning the 400-yard freestyle relay in 4:04.02. On the boys' side, Ivar Kostowicz '31 paced the Raiders with a victory in the 200-yard freestyle (1:52.28) and a second-place finish in the 100 freestyle (50.91). He also helped the Raiders to third-place finishes in both the 200 and 400 freestyle relays. Matteo Miller '30 added a third-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle (5:27.73), while Owen Zhao ’30 continued to make an impact in the sprint events, finishing fourth in the 50 freestyle and fifth in the 100 freestyle. The Raiders' depth was also on display throughout the meet, with both the boys and girls squads contributing strong relay performances and multiple top finishes across individual events. Overall, it was an encouraging day in the pool for the Raiders as they continue to build momentum during the season.
