Dig Pink volleyball tournament highlights activities around Breast Cancer Awareness Month
The annual Dig Pink volleyball tournament continued a spirited partnership between Ransom Everglades and Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart in support of breast cancer research. In their pink uniforms cheered on by pink-attired fans, RE's girls' volleyball middle, junior varsity and varsity teams played a triple header against Carrollton on October 2. In the lead-up to the slate of games, students at RE's middle and upper schools participated in activities in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
At the upper school, breast surgical oncologist Starr Mautner of the Baptist Health Herbert Wertheim Cancer Institute shared an informative presentation on breast cancer awareness and prevention, then fielded questions from Sophia Ranawat '27 as well as students in the Lewis Family Auditorium audience.
At the middle school, students and faculty wore pink and competed in a students vs. faculty volleyball game. Students on both campuses participated in fundraising efforts for breast cancer research.
