Ransom Everglades wins annual 'Battle of the Oar' game
Ransom Everglades brought home the oar in the traditional "Battle for the Oar" game against Palmer Trinity on Aug. 18, celebrating the successful start to the fall varsity football season with a Gatorade shower for new head coach Mosi Blake. The RE Raiders dominated, winning by a 45-0 score.
O'jhonte Armstrong '17 put on a show, rolling up 257 all-purpose yards and four touchdowns – two rushing, one punt return (64 yards) and one kickoff return (81 yards). He also snagged an interception, part of a great defensive effort for the Raiders.
Other big contributors: Reece Ritzenthaler '18 had nine tackles and two sacks; Blake Denson '18 totaled 10 tackles with one fumble recovery; Eddie Montalvo '17 made seven tackles and led a dominant offensive line; Lucas Ferrer '19 collected seven tackles; Anthony Albini '17 had five tackles and one sack; and Jace Howard '20 claimed one interception.
