In mock election, RE students favor Hillary Clinton
On Election Day, students voted in a mock presidential election on both campuses that produced a very different outcome than the actual Nov. 8 election. Students cast their votes overwhelmingly in favor of Hillary Clinton, who claimed 64.4 percent of the vote. Donald Trump won 26.9 percent. More than 800 students participated, giving RE a 76-percent turnout.
Of the 511 Upper School students who participated, 67.3 percent supported Clinton and 27.8 percent, Trump. At the Middle School, Clinton won 59.6 percent of the vote from 315 students and Trump, 25.5 percent.
The Upper School election was coordinated by faculty member Greg Cooper; the Middle School election by Joe Mauro.
