Middle School drama students charmed large crowds at Swenson Hall March 8-10 with an adorable and highly entertaining rendition of the musical Honk!, an adaptation of the Hans Christian Andersen story The Ugly Duckling. The audience was hopelessly hooked from the moment Matias Hernandez-Arellano '22 hatched from a swan egg with a honk and huge smile.
Liam de Araujo '21, Ana Martin '22, Viviana Vela '21, Zoe Holtzman '22, Alex Dray '21, Madeleine Bagnall '21, Jules Murray '22 and Manu Murra '21 played lead roles along with Hernandez-Arellano and Liv Steinhardt '23, Claire Holzman '21, Alexandra Henriquez '22, Lauren Zanarini '22, Alexa Hommen '22, Shelby Sanders '21, Kate Demos-Brown '23, Isa Henriquez '21, Riley Simon '21, Hannah Bast '21, Noah Delisma '22, Alex Prio-Touzet '21, Saskia Whitmoyer '22 and Felipe Campano '21.
The company also included: Sol Robert '22, Danny Jackson '21, Carson Stanton-Sharpless '23, Ani Victor '22, Leo Fein '23 and James Furniss-Roe '23.
Performing arts teacher Cecilia Gonzalez directed the musical and provided the choreography; Scott Warfel assisted with musical direction and Gina Montet offered technical assistance. The technical team included Ben Rosenthal '18, Liza Dill '21, Leah Ullman '23, Kathleen Stanton-Sharpless '22, Emma Rosenthal '21 and Brooke Scott '21.
