A trio of underclassmen and one junior helped lift RE's girls' lacrosse team to its third straight district title in a 16-3 defeat of Palmetto Senior High at Robert E. Walker Field April 5. After a victory in its regional playoff opener a week later, the team takes on St. Thomas Aquinas at home April 18 in the regionals' second round.
Sophia Antezana '20 led the scoring in the district title game with four goals; Calliste Skouras '19 knocked in three and had one assist; and Coco Sell '19 added a pair of goals and one assist. Erin Bakes '18, who as a sophomore made a verbal commitment to the University of Southern California, scored two goals and dished out three assists.
The four-year-old girls' program also won its opening regional playoff contest on April 14, defeating Coral Shores High by a 14-3 score, showing how far it has come under Coach Bridgette Laskey. The Raiders are now 13-1 on the season.
Ransom Everglades recognized its three seniors – Lala Cohen '17, Anyssa Francis '17, Skye Moradi '17 – before the district title game.
