15 students reflect on civil rights with Rep. John Lewis

Fifteen students and two faculty members spent a Saturday afternoon with Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) at a conference in Miami reflecting on the U.S. civil rights movement. Sophomores, juniors and one senior took part.
The April 1 program featured a welcome by David Lawrence Jr., the chair of the Children's Movement of Florida, and Alberto Carvalho, the superintendent of Miami-Dade County Public Schools.

Rep. Lewis provided the featured talk along with author Andrew Aydin and artist Nate Powell. Greg Cooper and Jenny Carson represented the RE faculty.
