Boys' water polo finishes perfect season with state title

Ransom Everglades boys' water polo team capped an undefeated season with a long-awaited state title in its home pool April 8, defeating Winter Park 14-4 at the Ansin Aquatic Center. The victory was the boys' 30th in a row and came a day after a nail-biting 8-7 win in overtime over St. Thomas Aquinas in the semifinals.
The entire team and Coach Eric Lefebvre celebrated the boys' first title since 2008 with a jump in the pool. Follow links for a photo gallerry and "Perfect Season" video by Carl Kafka and find the Miami Herald stories from the finals and semifinals.

Pearson landed the game winner with less than a minute remaining in overtime in the semifinal as Gould led the scoring in regulation with three goals. Miguel Lamar '17 played strong defense throughout in goal.
