Ransom Everglades sent its eighth graders to the Upper School June 1 during the Middle School Send-Up, an event that was part-graduation, part-awards ceremony and part-celebration at the Lewis Family Auditorium.

Class presidents Georgia Crosby '21 and Liza Dill '21 called the names of each member of the Class of 2021 to conclude the evening, which represented the third and final Middle School recognition event on the heels of the sixth- and seventh-grade awards assemblies in May.

The evening began with welcomes from Head of School Penny Townsend and Head of the Middle School Rachel Rodriguez and included performances by Middle School strings, band and drama students and student-service presentations. At the end of the night, students took a congratulatory stroll by the entire Middle School faculty, which offered hugs and handshakes before the students departed.

More than two dozen special awards were presented.

The sixth-grade awards ceremony took place during the school day the week before. The seventh-grade event also took place during the day two weeks before the end of classes; both were held at Swenson Hall.
