More than 1,000 attend MS open houses

More than 1,000 prospective RE students and their parents attended one of two Middle School Admission Open House events on Oct. 21. The visitors to the Everglades Campus were welcomed by Director of Admission Amy Sayfie Zichella '93, Head of the Middle School Rachel Rodriguez and Head of School Penny Townsend in Swenson Hall before RE students led them on campus tours.
The prospective families were steered to various classrooms where they met with faculty members in each of the five academic disciplines: English (Jody Salzinger and James McCrink), Mathematics and Computer Science (Ginny Onorati and John Lewis), Science (Gus Palacios and Robin Escobedo), History and Social Sciences (Joe Mauro and Alicia Fisher) and World Languages (Bobbie Bassuk and Adabel Diaz-Rivera). 

They also had a chance to peruse RE student art exhibited in the Braman Family Media Center and listen to musicians from RE's strings ensemble and band. The strings ensemble performed at the entrance of Swenson Hall under the direction of Jessica Li. RE's band performed under Cathi Leibinger in the dining hall.

Students entering the sixth, seventh or eighth grades next year who are interesed in attending RE and missed the open houses can schedule a Middle School tour. Interested families should go here for more information.
