500 local youth enjoy St. Alban's Day

Ransom Everglades students welcomed more than 500 City of Miami kindergarten and pre-school students to St. Alban’s Day, the school’s annual winter festival on both campuses, on Dec. 8. Some 170 students from St. Alban’s Child Enrichment Center enjoyed a mini-carnival at the Upper School as nearly 350 students from five local schools were treated to myriad holiday activities at the Middle School. Video
RE students ferried their young guests from station to station, taking in a snowy scene (and snowfall) in the Middle School dining hall, a petting zoo on both campuses, bubble machines, bounce houses, cookie decorating (and eating), balloon toys, train rides, arts and crafts, sports, visits with Santa, face painting and more.

The sophomore class planned the event at the Upper School. Middle School students teamed up and bought gifts for the children from Frances S. Tucker Elementary School, Centro Mater Child Care Center, Phyllis Wheatley Elementary School, Santa Clara Elementary School and Holmes Elementary School. Many RE students donned holiday sweaters, Santa hats and colorful socks to capture the spirit.
