Fourteen MS students advance to history bee nationals
RE Middle Schoolers swept first place in all three levels of the National History Bee regional competition at Pines Middle School in Pembroke Pines on Feb. 26 as all 14 RE entrants advanced to the national championship in Atlanta. Javi Kumar '22 bested his peers for the third straight year, this time as an eighth grader; Jonathan Pollack '23 won the seventh-grade title; and Daniel Figueroa '24 captured the sixth-grade championship.
Lucas Blanco '24, Liam Forand '24, Erick Gross '24, Ian Barnett '23, Leo Fein '23, Kyler Pace '23, Liv Steinhardt '23, Stefan Baker '22, Tommy Fisher '22, Zach Marcus '22 and Alex Van Lidth '22 also advanced for RE. The students were led by faculty members Joe Mauro and Alicia Fisher.
