RE's physics team finished first overall in the 17th-annual Chemistry and Physics Tournament at Barry University on April 13, claiming victories in both the oral and lab competitions, and placing five students in the top 10 individually – including Ryan Tie-Shue '18, who earned the top individual score. More than 160 students from 14 local high schools competed.
The physics team members are students in Anita Joseph's AP Physics C class: Evan Azari '18, Ganesh Gajavelli '18, Benjamin Rosenthal '18, Harry Sanchez '18, Jacob Tie-Shue '18 and Ryan Tie-Shue. Paul Natland '02 served as coach of that team.
RE's chemistry team, which was coached by Doug Heller '80, had one win, as Calliste Skouras '19 placed eighth individually. Science Department Chair Jay Salon oversaw both teams at the event.
