Rudy Ruiz '98 nominated for federal judgeship

Rodolfo "Rudy" Ruiz '98 has been nominated for a federal judgeship by President Trump on April 26. If confirmed by the Senate, Ruiz – the first recipient of the Robert Segall '82 Leadership Award at Ransom Everglades – will serve as a District Judge on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Ruiz was appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the county bench in 2012 and was elevated to the circuit bench in 2014.
