Antonio Mora '18 andGrant Dill '19capped a pair of perfect seasons with state titles in singles and doubles at the Florida High School Athletic Association Tennis State Championship on May 2. Mora finished a 15-0 season in singles with a victory in the singles state title match. He also joined with Dill to claim the state doubles title, their 10th consecutive victory.
Mora, who will play at Emory University next year, defeated Quinn Fender of St. Andrews School in Boca Raton, 6-1 6-1, to clinch the Class 1A singles championship. In Class 1A doubles, Mora and Dill earned a 6-3 6-7, 10-3 victory over Jake Krug and Connor Krug of Out-of-Door Academy in Sarasota. See the Miami Herald's story here.
Both boys, coached by Peter Lehmann and Tom Dughi, helped last year's RE boys' tennis team claim its first state title since 2008.
