Ben Rosenthal '18 was among just 2,500 seniors nationwide selected to receive a 2018 National Merit Scholarship from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, the organization announced May 9. Rosenthal was chosen from a pool of more than 15,000 finalists in the 63rd-annual National Merit Scholarship.
Corporations and colleges also sponsor National Merit Scholarships, but to earn the $2,500 award from the corporation itself puts Rosenthal, who plans to attend Harvard University in the fall, in an exclusive group. Ransom Everglades had 16 semifinalists and a number of commended students in this year's competition.
