Eighth grade sent up, MS students honored

The Class of 2022 celebrated its ascension to the Upper School at the May 30 Middle School Send-Up, an event at the Lewis Family Auditorium that featured student performances, recognized every member of the class and honored more than two dozen students with special awards. The Class of 2022 fall and spring presidents, Alexandra Henriquez '22 and David Dubovy '22, addressed their peers and together read the names of every member of the class. Eighth-grade orchestra, musical theatre and drama students entertained during breaks in the ceremony. Middle School faculty members attended the Send-Up, presented many of the awards and lined up to greet and congratulate each eighth grader at the end of the evening. 

Head of School Penny Townsend presented Rylan Sadler '22 with the Ransom Cup and Juliana Simoes '22 with the Swenson Cup, the two most prestigious honors. Alexandra Hommen '22 received the Faculty Award from Head of the Middle School Rachel Rodriguez. Middle School Dean of Students Pete DiPace presented Andre Joseph '22 with the Citizenship Award. Assistant Head of the Middle School Shelly Stamler presented co-Service Awards to Yara Haddad '22, Karlee Malloy '22 and Mary Logan Woolsey '22 .

Middle School Athletic Supervisor Roy Kelly presented Aidan Rothstein '22 and Sabrina Shipley '22 with the Scholar Athlete Awards, and Ryan Peluso '22 and Madison Munroe '22 with the Outstanding Athlete Awards. Founded in 1903, Ransom Everglades School is a coeducational, college preparatory day school for grades 6 - 12 located on two campuses in Coconut Grove, Florida.
