The Middle School history team of Javi Kumar '22, Zach Marcus '22, Leo Fein '23 and Daniel Figueroa '24 finished fifth in the National History Bowl held June 1-2 in Atlanta.
The team advanced to the quarterfinals with a perfect 8-0 record on the first day-and-a-half of competition. In the quarterfinals, the RE team lost to the eventual national champion, BASIS Independent Silicon Valley. That left the RE middle schoolers, who have been coached this year by faculty member Joe Mauro, with an 8-1 record and No. 5 ranking in the nation.
