Strings students offer haunting performance

Ransom Everglades strings students covered their bows and instruments with glow sticks, tied them around their wrists and hair, and sported fluorescent T-shirts for a spooky full-school Halloween-themed music showcase at Swenson Hall on Oct. 12. The musical pieces, which illustrated the students' progress from sixth grade to the Upper School level, beamed as brightly as the performers' attire.
RE strings director Jessica Carrasquillo directed the event, which began with the beginning orchestra and concluded with the Upper School honors and regular orchestras. A highlight was the performance offered by the Middle School Chamber Ensemble, which performed "The Emerald Falcon" by Richard Meyer.

Founded in 1903, Ransom Everglades School is a coeducational, college preparatory day school for grades 6 - 12 located on two campuses in Coconut Grove, Florida.
