RE’s varsity sailing team sent teams of sailors to a pair of out-of-state events on the same day, and both squads brought home medals. RE sailors earned a victory at the Nov. 10 College of Charleston (S.C.) Invitational Regatta, topping a field of 17, and another RE team finished third in the High School Sailing Atlantic Coast Championships at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., an event that drew 20 top-tier high schools.
In Annapolis, RE finished behind only the Ranney School from New Jersey and Christchurch School from Virginia. Co-captains Bernat Miro ’19 and Julia Johansson ’19 led Ransom Everglades along with Hannah Bast ’21, Claire Holzman ’21, Adam Kaplan ’21 and Lachlain McGranahan ’20. Coach Joe Logan provided direction at that event.
Sailing Coach Tim Banks led RE to victory in the College of Charleston Regatta. That Raider squad included Javi Garcon ’21, Michael Macrae ’19, Stephan Baker ’22, Liam O'Keefe ’21, Lucas Vianna ’21 and Gabe Vianna ’21.
