Coed Varsity Crew Travels to Head of the Hooch Regatta

The Coed Varsity Crew Team competed at the prestigious Head of the Hooch Regatta in Chattanooga, TN over the weekend of November 3rd & 4th. Entering 7 boys crews and 3 girls crews in 7 events, RE rowers faced typically changeable fall conditions in Tennessee with everything from beautiful fall weather and light winds to cold, foggy and windy conditions as they practiced and raced. Using this regatta to take a “snapshot” of the team’s training efforts, all crews saw building speed and momentum when measured against some of the best crews in Florida, the Southeast and from around the nation. Competitive result highlights include the Men’s Junior 4+ “A," Women’s 4+, Women’s 2x (both freshman!), Men’s Youth 4x “A," and the Men’s Lightweight 4+ (composed of two sophomores and two freshman!).  RE Crew will next face competition on December 8th at the Plant Fall Sprints in Tampa, FL where a variety of RE crews will test their mettle over the traditional 1500m sprint distance they will race throughout the spring.
