RE speech and debate scores awards

RE speech and debate scored a host of awards at back-to-back tournaments in South Florida in early December. Ilija Wan-Simm '19 led the way with first- and second-place finishes at the South Florida Catholic Forensic League No. 3 at Miami Beach High on Dec. 8, a week after he earned a third place at the Colt Classic Speech and Debate Tournament in Coral Springs.
Wan-Simm earned his victory in Varsity Dramatic Performance and awards in Varsity Program of Oral Interpretation. Aiden Murphy '21 and Margaret Dill '21 combined for second place in Novice Public Forum Debate at the Miami Beach event.

Alexander Abinader '19 and Thomas Murphy '19 scored a first place in Varsity Public Forum in Coral Springs, as Georgia Crosby '19 earned second in Informative Speaking, Danny Jackson '20 finished second in Varsity Humorous Interpretation, and Andres Defortuna '21 and Jackson Mopsick '20 claimed third in the Novice Public Forum.

Ransom Everglades also got top finishes at the Colt Classic from the team of Noah Zaldivar '21 and David Dubovy '21, and Frank McPhillips '20 and Bruce Jagid '20, who finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in Novice Public Forum. Hallie Leeds '20 placed fifth in Informative Speaking. Coach Kate Hamm led the Raider team.
