Welcome to our REinventing Excellence construction page. Our goal is to keep the RE community informed as we commence construction on our new STEM Center, refurbish other parts of the Ransom Campus and begin uniting the Upper School with the beautiful La Brisa land next door.

  • RE breaks ground on the STEM Center

    Ransom Everglades School leadership broke ground on the school’s new STEM Center on Dec. 13, celebrating the start of construction on the three-story, 45,000 sq. ft. centerpiece of the school’s REinventing Excellence campaign.

  • Saying goodbye to Timken Hall

    Ransom Everglades said goodbye to Timken Hall on Nov. 26, providing an emotional end to the round of demolition required to start construction on the new STEM Center. In a two-week period, a pair of hydraulic excavators knocked down three small non-academic buildings and Timken Hall to create room between the Lewis Family Auditorium and Cameron Hall for the new STEM Center and drop-off loop. The groundbreaking for the STEM Center is Dec. 13.

  • Demolition underway at Upper School

    A hydraulic excavator methodically demolished most of two non-academic buildings near the site of the proposed STEM Center on Nov. 12, allowing Ransom Everglades to take a major step forward in its REinventing Excellence campaign. The two small, one-story structures in an administrative cluster behind Timken Hall were the first to fall since the business office was demolished last June.

  • First floor of Cameron Hall opens

    The internal makeover of Cameron Hall neared completion on Oct. 24 as Ransom Everglades unveiled a refurbished first floor including a large lobby and reception area for visitors, and offices for Upper School Dean of Students Lindsay Danielson and Head of the Upper School Ken Mills. The building, whose second floor had been renovated at the start of the school year, houses the offices for the four Upper School class deans and classrooms. Receptionist Monique Regis and Administrative Assistant to the Dean of the Upper School Sandy Lacayo work at the front entry.

Founded in 1903, Ransom Everglades School is a coeducational, college preparatory day school for grades 6 - 12 located on two campuses in Coconut Grove, Florida.
