  • Attire for Seniors

Seniors must wear either a dark-colored suit, white dress shirt, tie, and dress shoes in the tradition of the Ransom School or, in the tradition of the Everglades School for Girls, a dress, suit, or pantsuit that is white or off-white and of a modest style, pattern, and material, along with dress shoes. Attire must extend at least to the knee. It also must cover the shoulders or include shoulder straps with a width of two inches or more (approximately three to four fingers wide). Strapless, halter, backless, spaghetti-strapped and similar styles are prohibited.

To ensure that all graduates are dressed in a manner that is consistent with the guidelines above, all commencement ceremony attire must be approved by Assistant Head of the Upper School Adriana Sanchez or faculty member Karen Key by Friday, May 2. Students must email Mrs. Sanchez or Ms. Key photos showing students from the front, back and sides in the attire they intend to wear. Please contact Mrs. Sanchez at 305 460 7966 or Ms. Key at 305 460 8815 with questions about commencement attire.
  • Invitations

By late March, each senior will receive a box containing four graduation invitations and 20 announcements.
  • Tickets for Commencement

Due to limited seating in the auditorium, the family of each senior receives four tickets to the commencement ceremony. These tickets are given to the students at the first graduation rehearsal.

Families may share unneeded tickets with others, or return them to the office of the Head of the Upper School. Returned tickets are used to accommodate those in need of additional tickets.

Families desiring more than four tickets may place their names on a waiting list in the Head of the Upper School’s office. Those requests are honored, if possible, as unneeded tickets become available. Please contact Maria Elena Gonzalez via email or at 305 460 8855 to be placed on the waiting list for additional tickets.
