Middle school musicians demonstrate progress and dedication
RE's middle school musicians and singers showed their promise and dedication at the end-of-year Middle School Strings & Chorus Concert at Swenson Hall on May 13. The lively concert featured all three levels of the middle school string orchestra, five songs by the middle school chorus and special recognition for the program's eighth graders. Strings Music Director Scott O'Donnell and Middle School Choral Director Arn Xu offered the Swenson Hall audience insight into their students' progress, the performance choices and their students' efforts. It's such a joy to see all of you here tonight as we celebrate the hard work, progress and passion of our middle school string students," O'Donnell said to the audience. "This concert is more than just a performance, it's a reflection of months of preparation, discipline, but also technical, musical and artistic growth. These students have been learning not just notes and rhythms, but how to listen, collaborate and express themselves through the gift of music."
