Middle school community members stock annual toy store for community children
Ransom Everglades middle school students and faculty shared toys and gifts with local children at Christ Episcopal Church on December 6, extending a holiday tradition that dates back more than 30 years. RE students and families donated games, bicycles, stuffed animals, sports equipment and more, helping to turn the church social hall into a toy store. Members of the RE community joined church volunteers to help children select their favorite items at no cost.
The annual toy drive was organized and supported on December 6 by Middle School Student Activities Dean Lenny Castaneda and faculty members Maria Eugenia Abrante, Flavia Araripe, Ramona Miller and J.P. Arrastia. Among the students who helped distribute toys: Daniel Sigelman '32, Dorothy Spencer-Funchion '29, Vincente Velez '32, Sania Ranadive '30, Maya Sigelman '30, Harper Harris '29 and Alexandra Brandrick-Morris '29.
