Jazz combos earn Superiors for third straight year

For the third consecutive year, Ransom Everglades' RE Combo and the Blue Note Combo earned straight "Superior" ratings at the Florida Bandmasters Association District 20 Jazz Band Music Performance Assessment in Key Largo. Under the Director of Instrumental Music Jon Hamm, both ensembles have qualified for the state-level assessment in West Palm Beach this March.
The "Superior" rating is the top mark awarded by the FBA, indicating a performance that meets the highest standards of technical and musical excellence. The RE Combo performed Clifford Brown’s "Delilah," at the February 6 MPA and the Blue Note Combo performed Miles Davis' "So What."

"Please join me in congratulating our hard-working instrumentalists, all of whom are slated to also perform for both the Symphonic Band and Symphony Orchestra MPA's in the coming weeks," Hamm said.
