Seniors in top 10 percent of Class of 2027 honored with Cum Laude Society inducation

Ransom Everglades recognized the 18 students in the top 10 percent of Ransom Everglades' Class of 2027 during an upper school assembly September 17 with induction into the Cum Laude Society – a 120-year tradition at RE. The inductees: Isabel Adler '27, Mateo Bernal '27, Simone Carrasco '27, Nicolas Castillo '27, Luisa Duarte '27, Noa Garcia '27, Juliana Hommen '27, Lucas Lafosse-Marin '27, Sloane Mason '27, Valentina Pombo '27, Lucas Sanchez '27, Gabrielle Tchira '27, Sophia Thompson '27, Shai Waizbrot '27, Yuelu Wang '27, Sabine Wolfensberger '27, Reisha Yavagal '27 and Myla Zuckerman '27.
"This accolade honors the top achievers among us, who have consistently demonstrated dedication, curiosity, and mastery in their studies," said Chief of Innovation & Strategic Programming John A. King Jr., also RE's founding director of the Holzman Center of Applied Ethics. "To the inductees, this honor is not an end, but a beginning. It is a profound invitation to continue your journey of discovery, to accept the responsibility of seeking a deeper understanding of our world, your place within it and what you can contribute. We hope you will never lose your inquisitiveness and the love of learning that is at the heart of this achievement."

The Cum Laude Society includes just over 380 chapters worldwide, and about 4,000 students are inducted annually. Induction into the society at RE, which dates back to 1906 at the Adirondack-Florida School, recognizes students for displaying good character, honor and integrity in all aspects of their school life.

The newest inducteees represent the first group of inductees to the Cum Laude Society this school year; in the spring, RE will induct the remaining students in the top 20 percent of the senior class.
