Boys' golf earns fifth straight district title; RE girls finish second

The boys’ golf team at Ransom Everglades fought through high winds and intermittent rain to win its fifth consecutive 1A District 16 championship as the RE girls’ team battled for a runner-up finish. The boys jumped out to an early lead at the Biltmore Golf Course October 27, kept the pressure on the field, and held on as four Raiders finished in the top six individually.
Pablo Muñoz Montes ’29 led the Raiders with a 73 (+2), finishing second overall. Zach Fischer ’27 shot 76 (+5) to place fourth, while Axel Monssoh ’30 and Cole Durham ’29 each shot 77 (+6), tying for sixth place. Anson Dover ’31 also contributed under Coach Dave Ragan. The Raiders’ team score of 303 topped Marathon (323), True North (325) and Westminster Christian (331).

The boys advanced to the regional playoffs beginning November 2 at Miami Shores Country Club.

The girls’ team tallied a score of 308, just behind district champion Carrollton (305) and well ahead of Riviera Prep (356) under Coach Roberta Neves. Nina Fischer ’29 claimed second place (72), Ella Wester ’28 scored fifth place (74) and Esha Nagalla ’29 earned seventh (75). Diana Graziano ’29 and Misha Gowda ’28 also contributed.
