Five seniors offer advice and reminiscences at annual Senior Panel

Jaral Arroyo-Jefferson '25, Julia Lewkowitz '25, Carlota Dueñas '25, Kiera Rampersad '25 and Chase White '25 shared their advice and experiences at RE with parents during the annual Senior Panel on April 22. Showing poise and thoughtfulness, the students REflected on challenges they had overcome, teachers who supported them and memories that they will carry forever during a Q-and-A moderated by Head of the Upper School Don Cramp.
The event at the Posner Lecture Hall took place at the conclusion of the Ransom Everglades Parents' Association Annual Meeting. The students recalled many aspects of their respective journeys at Ransom Everglades, particularly moments when they stepped outside of their comfort zones in trying out for sports, taking certain classes and participating in the annual Everglades Experience with Outward Bound as ninth graders. Each shared special appreciation for a certain teacher or coach at RE; those receiving mentions included engineering teacher Bob DuBard, math and computer science teacher Karen Key, college counselor and coach Roger Caron and aquatics director Franz Huggins. The seniors even offered advice for parents on navigating the high school years with their children.

Finally, they conveyed their excitement about heading off to college in the fall.

"I think that Ransom Everglades has really, really prepared us academically, but also emotionally and socially," Dueñas said. "I feel completely ready, and I'm just really excited to start this new chapter of my life."
