Girls' Track & Field Wins Freshman/Sophomore Meet in Dominating Fashion

Hosted by Ransom Everglades at Coral Gables High School the Raiders dominated the Freshman/Sophomore Meet from start to finish. The team placed three runners in the top 5 in the 100 meter dash. Grace Arriola (14.13), Kira Oglesby (14.40) and Paisley Verea (14.85) finished in 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th respectively. Arriola (29.47) and Oglesby (29.83) finished 3^rd and 5^th in the 200 meter dash. In the 400 meter dash Natalia Atabaki placed 4^th with a time of 1:08.89. Brooke Scott led the field in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:28.38 while Fernanda Garcia Moreno Alvarez (5:45.06) took 2^nd in the 1600 meter run. Verea (20.63) placed 3^rd in the 100 meter hurdles while Nicole Tacher Lois (49.66) finished 1^st in the 300 meter hurdles. Ana Maria Tovar placed 5^th with a time of 1:00.34. The 4 x 400 meter relay team finished 1^st with a time of 4:34.55. Tacher Lois won the high jump with a height of 1.53 meters. Nika Kazumyan placed 4^th in the shot put with a throw of 6.38 meters while Katya Sucher (20.60) and Kazumyan (16.82) finished 2^nd and 4^th in the discus throw.
