Coed Varsity Sailing Places 3rd at Larry White Invitational

Twenty talented high school sailing teams from the U.S. Virgin Islands to as far north as Maine competed this weekend at the Larry White Invitational at the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT. Light, fluky winds and strong currents on Connecticut's Thames River made for challenging racing.  After the first set of races, the team led the fleet. In a very talented fleet the Raiders fell back to 4th place by the end of the day on Saturday. Sunday's racing was even lighter wind conditions with barely enough wind to pull off a race. Only four races were sailed due to the poor conditions. The Raiders were able to move up to a 3rd place finish by the end of the regatta on Sunday.
