Traffic loop opens; STEM foundation continues

As workers continued to build the foundation of the STEM Center during spring break, gradually filling the gaping, 14,400-ft2 footprint of the building, Ransom Everglades completed the new Upper School traffic loop and opened it for use. On April 1, the day students returned from their two-week break, all vehicular traffic was routed through the main entrance, around the new loop, and back out the main gate.
Workers used 15,000 ft2 of permeable pavers in a herringbone layout to create the new loop, which runs between the Lewis Family Auditorium and Ransom Cottage and has been under construction since late December.

Meanwhile, workers at the STEM Center completed work on the load-bearing columns known as rigid inclusions and continued excavating the building's lower level and forming the foundation.
